Designed A/V Environments combines art and form to allow you to transform any room in your home to a state-of-the-art media center. One touch of a touch panel, remote or tablet reveals the screen and projector, room lighting fades, shades lower, surround sound is activated and your library or study is magically converted into a fun space where your family can hang out and watch their favorite movies or television shows.
Decorative and architectural integrity is preserved as electronics return to their hidden compartments when the fun is over. Exceptional and versatile spaces of comfort, beauty and electronic superiority.
The screen is the central and most visible component to any media room, but it doesn’t have to be. Whether you’re looking at a direct-pixel display such as an LCD or plasma, or a full-out cinema projector, we can conceal your media room in such a way that when it’s off, you won’t even know it’s there.
Fixed Displays:
With the beautiful moving art designs from Media Decor, we can conceal displays up to 100 inches. When the TV is off, the space shows a beautiful piece of art which can be chosen from a multitude artists or even a replica of a piece you already own. Accented with custom framing, at the touch of a button, the art silently rolls away revealing the display behind it. It is by far the most elegant solution for a concealed display in rooms with moderate to high ambient light.
Retractable Film-screens:
For the most authentic cinema experience in a multi-use room, nothing beats the size of a retractable film-screen in combination with a high-performance projector. Complete with trap-doors and projector lifts, our customers can have a 130+ inch viewing experience in the same room they just held a family-meeting at the touch of a button.
With sound being the most emotional aspect to a good entertainment experience, it’s vitally important to choose a great set of speakers. Often in multi-use media rooms, we are met with the challenge of delivering that high expectation of impressive sound while not showing the equipment that produces it. Designed A/V Environments is up to that challenge and we deliver. Each space is different when we approach it. In some rooms, bookshelf speakers can sit beautifully among the books and decor, while in others in-wall or in-ceiling speakers make the most sense.
Bookshelf Speakers:
There are many bookshelf speakers to choose from with regard to audio quality, size, cost, and available finished. For rooms that need better acoustic isolation, bookshelf speakers have a fully enclosed cabinet which points the sounds towards the listener and reduces noise in adjacent rooms when compared to in-wall or in-ceiling speakers. They come in a multitude of beautiful finishes and can often match the bookshelf itself or room furniture.
In-Wall:
For the most discreet speaker installation, we recommend in-wall or in-ceiling speakers. They mount flush with the wall surface and can be painted any color to match the surrounding room. Higher quality in-wall speakers, such as the PMC Wafer series, offer the acoustic isolation seen in bookshelf speakers by mounting the entire enclosed cabinet in the wall.
Other Solutions:
There are many other solutions when it comes to getting the best possible sound while not interrupting the decor or architecture of the room. From fabric walls to acoustically transparent film-screen materials, our designers in this look at every project’s unique properties and guide the customer to a solution that’s unparalleled.
Multi-use media rooms pose a unique challenge to A/V integrators. Specifically, the concealment of equipment. Customers want a large screen, high-performance audio, and access to all their various sources all without seeing any of the equipment running the show. Whether you’re installing a complete distributed A/V solution with the equipment in a distant room, or a dedicated ad-hoc system with the equipment in a local closet, one thing is for sure; you need to control it. Our robust remote control solutions all use reliable long distance radio frequency communications. This means you no longer need to point your remote control at any equipment or infrared receiver.
